"In addition this engine is also fuel efficient," said Joe Bakaj, Ford GlobalPowertrain Deputy Director of Engineering, as reported by autoblog.com, Saturday, July 2, 2011.

David Filipe, Chief Engineer of Engine Programs for Europe, said the power generated by the 1,000 cc three-cylinder engine it reaches 102-105 PS. "The power is equivalent to the power generated by the 1600 cc engine," he said.

Derrick Kuzak, Vice Director of Global Product Development Group Ford, as reported by cnet.com, beginning last June, said the engine fuel consumption is much lower than the 1600 cc engine. "Although the same power output, fuel consumption is more efficient because it uses EcoBoost devices," he said.

Kuzak has not been willing to describe the performance of the machine. He mentions only the fuel consumption of 1600 cc engine that reaches 18 kilometers per liter. Means the fuel consumption of 1,000 cc engine is between 20-30 kilometers per liter.

Previously, Ford has installed the machine at Star Ford concept car on display at the Beijing Motor Show 2010. A few months later, Ford re-install the engine in the concept car Ford B-MAX is on display at the mat Geneva Motor Show 2011, March.
