GERMANY- Mercedes-Benz and Audi are brisk touring car races in Germany, or popularly called Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), will receive a new competitor, the BMW, which re-entered the circuit in 2012 after the last participating in 1994. The official announcement was made yesterday (16 / 7) and will rely on coupe BMW M3.

When introduced, coupe M3 covered by black carbon fiber with a good aerodynamic package, performance implies a stern look. This racing car will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show next September.
Kupe M3 is equipped with a V8 engine which has a maximum power of 480 HP, according to DTM racing regulations. "The return of BMW to the DTM is not something that preamble, but up by the roots," said board member, Dr. Klaus Daeger. According to Klaus, BMW will face a major competitor in the premium class and we have enjoyed great success in the past.
Meanwhile, BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen said that the entire team at BMW Motorsport to run this project with tremendous commitment. "We started making technical preparations and develop high-performance parameters to perform at the DTM. It is a positive decision from the board of management of BMW that we get the green light to develop it."
About how many cars will be included in the race, BMW has not provided information.
