Tata Nano to be available on-the-spot from Aug-Sept 2010

Tata Nano, one of the most sought-after small car in the Indian market will be available on-the-spot at company's dealerships across Indian from August-September, and there will be no need to book this car in advance, company said in a statement on Tuesday. Mr Manoj Arora, Senior Manager, Tata Motors, told reporters that customers will be able to walk into company's showroom and drive out in a Nano, from this August or September. roduction capacity of 2.5 lakh units . Setting up a manufacturing facility at Sanand (Gujarat) will help the company deliver cars faster, Mr Arora Added.

The Tata Nano model was launched in India in March last year when company took bookings for only 1.55 lakh units of Nano using a lottery system. At the time of launch Tata Motors had announced that first one lakh units of Tata Nano will be price protected. The company has started an special event named as 'Tata Nano Superdrive' to celebrate the inauguration Tata Nano's new plant in Sanand. A fleet of 9 Tata Nanos driven by prospective customers, who participated in an online contest, began a country-wide drive, called the Nano Superdrive, from Sanand on 2nd June. The drive was flagged off by Mr. Ratan N. Tata.
