Land Rover, a British subsidiary of Tata Motors announced on Thursday that it will roll-out two new generation diesel versions of its iconic SUV (sports utility vehicle), Range Rover, in its domestic market by Sept 2010. The new diesel-run Range Rover SUVs will be powered with 4.4 litre and 5.0 litre engines respectively. Both the models will be compatible with the new Euro-V emission norms which guarantees an improved fuel economy and a comparatively low CO2 emission level.
While announcing the prospective launch of these new Range Rover diesel models, Managing director Phil Popham, Land Rover, said that the 2011 Range Rover retains its position as one of the world's most complete luxury vehicles. Its combination of reduced CO2 emissions and superior engine performance continues to make it a clear industry benchmark. Where the 4.4L LR-TDV8 Range Rover will be equipped with an eight-speed-automatic-transmission, the 5.0-litre LR-V8 Range Rover will be using a six-speed automatic transmission.
Moreover, the company will also roll-out a special edition of this SUV comprising some unique design elements. While commenting on the latest design of the limited edition Range Rover, Land Rover's Design Director Gerry McGovern said that at the top of the range, the new Autobiography Black 40th anniversary limited edition offers customers the option of complete exclusivity with unique colour combinations as well as striking interior and exterior design features.
