Maruti Dealership network to expand by 200

Maruti Suzuki, country's leading car maker is planning to expand its existing dealership network by opening up 200 more outlets. The step would be in reciprocation to an increased demand in the automobile sector. Shashank Srivastava, company's Chief General Manager (Marketing) said that Maruti Suzuki currently has 800 outlets that cover more than 500 cities.



He clarified that the company wants to escalate the number of outlets to at least a 1000 by the end of this fiscal. Apart from the expansion plans in terms of dealership network, the company is also looking forward to betting big on the Indian Rural market. Shrivastava said that the company has managed to rope good sales from the segment last year. He added that nearly 17% of the sales for the company were garnered from the rural segment.

With the right marketing policies taking charge of the segment at the right time, there is a lot that the company can look forward to. He said that Maruti Suzuki India is also going to place big bets on the Corporate Sector as the sector has been gaining momentum in the recent past and is expected to perform big time this fiscal.
