Audi reports 65% jump in its May 2010 sales

Audi India, an Indian subsidiary of Germany based leading car maker, has reported a jump of 65% in its May 2010 sales at 200 units as compare to the 121 units of its cars sold in May 2009.

The company has recently launched a Limited Edition of its largest selling luxury SUV Audi Q7 4.2 TDI Quattro in India, which is receiving a very good response from buyers of this segment.

The company sells some of its most popular global portfolio cars in India including the Audi A4, the Audi A6, the Audi A8, the Audi Q5, the Audi Q7, the Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8. Audi India has large dealership base in the Indian market in more than a dozen cities across the country including Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chennai and Ludhiana. The company is also planning to open new outlets in tier-II cities like Lucknow, Coimbatore and Nagpur.

The Audi Group managed to sell around 950,000 units of its cars in the global market in year 2009 including 1,658 cars sold in the Indian market. The company has about five major production facilities in the foreign markets including Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm (Germany), Gyor (Hungary), Changchun (China) and Brussels (Belgium). It also has a manufacturing plant at Aurangabad where it produces its premium luxury sedans Audi A4 and A6.

Company is also expected to launch its much awaited luxury car Audi A1 in the Indian market by next year. The A1 model is currently under production at its Brussels plant.
