Nissan India, which has recently signed Ranbir Kapoor as its brand ambassador, today announced that it has received booking for more than 400 units of its latest hatchback Nissan Micra in India, in just a period of less than 2 weeks. To make the most of this overwhelming response from buyers, the company has also started the pre-order bookings for the Micra at its showrooms across India.
Nissan has already announced that it will start the delivering the Micra model from 15th of July, 2010 and till then the model will be available for display at company's outlets across India. The company is targeting to produce more than 80,000 units of Micra model from its Chennai plant in FY10-11.
The Nissan Micra model is powered with a 1.2liter DOHC 12 Valve 3-cylinder petrol engine (with a five-speed manual gearbox) which is able to generate a maximum power of 76PS along with a maximum torque of 104kg @ 4000rpm. The model is coming with a segment leading fuel economy of 18.6 km/litre, as tested by ARAI.
The new Micra model will be launched in India in four variants including base model XE, middle range variants XE Plus and XL, and the top variant XV. The new model will be available in six exciting colors including Sunlight Orange, Blade Silver, Storm White, Pacific Blue, Onyx Black and Brick Red. It is expected that Micra will be placed in the price segment of Rs 3.5 to 5.5 lakh.
