Jaguar Cars, a British subsidiary of India's leading car maker Tata Motors, is eying to roll-out the hybrid versions of its XJ and XF models by 2013-14, reported a leading British car magazine. It is to be mentioned here that Land Rover, another British subsidiary of Tata Motors, had recently announced that company is planning to develop new hybrid cars.
The magazine further reports that the Land Rover will be testing its first diesel-hybrid concept model named as 'range_e' by the end of this year. The 'range_e' prototype will be developed at the Range Rover Sport's platform.
The prototype will be tested using a 3.0 litre TDV6 8-speed automatic transmission ZF diesel. It is reported that the company will try to reach a range of 20 miles at electric power along with a considerably low CO2 emission at 100 g/km and the maximum speed of around 120 mile/hour.
