GM Develops Gas-fueled Cars in collaboration with Wesport

Indianapolis: General Motors Co.. working with the Westport, a company based in Vancouver, Canada, is developing a multibillion-dollar project to create a natural gas-fueled vehicles. As quoted by Reuters last week, GM announced plans to develop the first natural gas-fueled machine, by cooperating with several small players who have sought to develop gas-fueled engines before.

Westport itself is a company that produces technology to convert a gasoline engine or diesel to gas-fueled engines.

GM and Westport plans to develop a light machine, with a capacity of 0.5 liters, to open up market opportunities for smaller cars, which had previously been controlled by the manufacturer of the engine.

If successful then the car will be a second car in the U.S. who use natural gas fuel after the Honda Civic GX.
