Global sales of Mercy B-Klasse achieves 700.000 Units

A total of 52 640 customers worldwide have purchased the B-Klasse cars since January, an increase of 26.8 percent from a year ago. In Germany, sales rose by 31.5 percent during the first five months of this year, to 17,826 units.

The most important market for B-Klasse is Germany, which accounts for about one third of worldwide sales, followed by China and Italy.

In 2009, B-Klasse introduced to China, where the product is find great success in last year's sales increased by 140.3% year, to 12,217 unit. Sales continues to be very dynamic until this year. This year, even up to 5966 units (compared with January-May 2010 sold 3030 units).

"Activated B-Klasse Mercedes-Benz as setting new standards in the premium compact segment," said Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing Mercedes-Benz.

The first units of the new B-Klasse will be delivered to customers in Western Europe later this year. It will be manufactured in a production network includes Rastatt plant and new facility in Kecskemet, Hungary.
