NEW YORK- McLaren racer Lewis Hamilton spared from criticism of the style of racing, as well as media speculation about his future in Formula One arena, after exchanging a car with two-time champion NASCAR, Tony Stewart, on Tuesday (14.06.11 ). Both drivers were exchanging their car when trying out the track was cold and wet in the evening at the Watkins Glen, New York, where the last circuit to host Formula 1 race in 1980, an event sponsored by a major corporation.
McLaren racer, Lewis Hamilton, and NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart, was exchanging the car. Stewart tried a Formula 1 car (right) and Hamilton tried to NASCAR cars.
"I am very amazed about the ability of this car," Stewart said as broadcast SpeedTV.
"I told the crew (NASCAR) in the pit and the possibility they are a little stressed these weeks because I will switch to drive the vehicle. I do not think we'll do out there," he added.
Hamilton, who left Montreal accompanied by criticism of former F1 world champion Niki Lauda, who said he was driving "out of all the safety limits" and "very mad", was enjoying a Sunday afternoon.
"Very nice. Perhaps the most impressive thing that I do out of Formula One," said British rider after completing the action in front of around 10,000 spectators.
"I feel tense days over the weekend in the morning, but the sense of direct takjubku arise when using these vehicles, and when I came out, I forget all the events last week."
Hamilton, who is now aged 26 years, experienced a period of up and down this season, a new victory in China. The rest, he repeatedly had to deal with the committee due to collisions and other controversies. Even in the last two races, he collided.
