Volkswagen Vento's sketch unveiled in India

Volkswagen, the Germany based leading car maker, has released the first sketch of its upcoming Sedan Volkswagen Vento on Tuesday. The car will be launched in India in the second half of this year. The Volkswagen Vento model has been manufactured at the platform of company's small hatchback Polo which was launched in India in March this year. With the possible price tag of Rs 6 to Rs 8 lakh Vento will be competing with popular cars of this segment like Maruti Swift Dzire.

According to the company, the car has been specifically designed for Indian market and will be produced at its facility in Chakan, Pune. Launch of this new model will certainly help the company in increasing its market share as the entry level sedan segment is going through a whooping demand phase. At present, the best selling car of this segment, the Maruti Swift Dzire has a waiting period of 2 to 3 months on an average.

Currently, the company has about half a dozen vehicles in its India portfolio, that are- luxury sedans Volkswagen Passat and Jetta, luxury SUV Volkswagen Touareg, New Beetle, Phaeton and the recently launched New Polo.However, Volkswagen hasn't disclosed any details regarding the launch date and specifications of this models in India.
